Religion, the Bible, and a life of faith

True religion was created by the one and only God. In every generation, he chose one person to write and convey his words on his behalf. The Bible, the divine book of God, was recorded by people whom God chose. Although the Bible was spoken and written down by people, God is still the source of the words, the one and only author of the Bible, and the founder of true religion (2 Tm 3:16; Gal 1:11-12; 2 Pt 1:21; Rv 1:10-11). No person can claim to be the founder of religion nor can anyone claim to be the author of the Bible. People can only write and speak on behalf of God.

For believers, hearing and reading the Bible is the same as hearing and reading the words of God (Jn 12:44-45; Jn 14:24). All of today’s major religions (i.e. Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism, etc.) has its own scriptures. If the history of Christianity is counted beginning in Jesus’ time, it goes back 2,000 years. If the prophets who promised Jesus’ birth are included (Ps 2; Is 7:14), the history of Christianity stretches back roughly 3,000 years. In fact, since Christians worship the same God as the Israelites in the Old Testament, Christian history can be traced back 6,000 years. Confucianism and Buddhism, on the other hand, each have only 2,500 and 2,600 years of history, respectively. Among the Old Testament prophets, there were many who prophesied about Christ before Confucius or Buddha came, and Buddha, Confucius, and the Old Testament prophets all prophesied about the coming of the savior (Jesus). Although Jesus came according to the prophecies, the descendants of Moses, Buddha, and Confucius only believed in Moses, Buddha, and Confucius and refused to believe in the one about whom their teachers prophesied. In other words, they believed in their teachers, but they did not believe in the words of their teachers. The words that their teachers spoke became their scriptures, and the words of their scriptures are not the words of their teachers but they spoke on behalf of God (holy spirit).  Therefore, they are the words of God. Faith and salvation can only be attained through God and God's word.

Apostle John referred to Jesus, in whom God was dwelling, as the word and as the advocate who spoke on behalf of God (1 Jn 1:1; 1 Jn 2:1). Jesus said, “I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one [God] who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life,” (Jn 5:24). When considering the status of Jesus, Confucius, and Buddha, because Jesus is the son of the creator of heaven and earth (Mt 3:16-17; Jn 1:32-34), no one can compare to him. As for Buddha, Confucius, and the Old Testament prophets, they spoke on behalf of God and prophesied, but they were unable to resolve their own sins (original sin, hereditary sin, and personal sin). Jesus, however, was fundamentally without sin, and he alone bore the cross to atone for our sins and to grant us salvation (Jn 1:29; Heb 9:28).

Jesus, the son promised by God, fulfilled the Old Testament (Jn 19:30) and prophesied future events, which are referred to as the “New Testament.” Today is the time Jesus’ promise, the New Testament, is being fulfilled. Furthermore, the scriptures of Christianity (the Bible) are worth believing more than the scriptures of Buddhism or Confucianism because the Bible records the physical fulfillment that appeared according to the prophecies (Jn 14:29). That is to say, the Bible is a scripture of personal experience[1] By experiencing the physical fulfillment of the Bible, believers are able to have solid evidence for their faith.   

There is knowledge of the world and there is biblical knowledge of heaven. Even if people do good deeds, they cannot be considered righteous by their actions nor can their sins be washed away. Unless our sins are atoned for, God (holy spirit), who is life, cannot be with us. It is not wealth or authority that the sinners of this world need. These things are nothing but empty dreams. The only thing that we really need is God. Therefore, we must receive the atonement of sins so that we could have the qualification for God to dwell in us. In order to receive the atonement of sins, we must meet the pastor promised in the New Testament. The way to meet this promised pastor is recorded in the Bible. It is only when people go into the Bible that people will be able to see him and know him. 

If one does not receive the atonement of sins, there is no heaven and no eternal life and one will receive punishment. The only place in the whole world that has mastered the revelation and the Bible through the promised pastor is Shinchonji Church of Jesus. The saints of Shinchonji keep the new covenant (Heb 8:10-13) and have become walking bibles. Is SCJ Church of Jesus really a cult?
Is it a cult from God’s point of view or is it a cult from the point of view of men?
We should confirm‍ whether or not SCJ is a cult using the Bible as our standard.
Let’s discover the correct answer.

Since 1990, many Christians have joined SCJ after listening to SCJ’s revealed word (i. e. the word of revelation).
This mass exodus of Christians angered many Korean pastors, and in response,
these pastors have held several meetings to work out strategies for preventing their congregation members from leaving their churches.
Ultimately, they decided to call SCJ a cult to avoid losing any more congregation members.

Just consider the 6,000 years of biblical history.
Isn’t it clear that God’s prophets in both the Old and New Testaments were persecuted and killed for their testimonies (Mt 23:34-35; Acts 7:51-53; Rv 18:24)?
As if it weren’t enough for God’s people to kill the prophets, they also falsely accused Jesus and his disciples of being heretics, cult leaders, and demon-possessed troublemakers so that they could murder them as well (Mt 12:22-24; Jn 8:51-54; Acts 7:55-60; Acts 24:1-5).
They treated Jesus and his disciples as if they belonged to Satan so that their congregation members would not approach them (Jn 3:14; Mt 23:13).
Just as confirmed through the references above, God’s messengers in each generation were persecuted (Heb 11:32-38).

Korean pastors have accused SCJ of being a cult; they falsely testified that SCJ proclaimed Mt 24 was the only passage in the Bible that describes the end times.
SCJ, however, has never said any such thing. There is no evidence that this is true in any sermon recording or book published by SCJ.
It is not God, but Korean pastors who decided to label SCJ as a cult.
They have done this just as the people of the past mistreated God’s messengers as heretics.
If you compare God’s prophets and apostles to the other pastors of their respective generations, those who spoke on behalf of God were orthodox.
The latter group—the religious leaders of the world—however, were the real heretics.

We in SCJ have offered Korean pastors the chance to have a conversation with us several times,
but they are thoughtlessly refuse our requests and continue to call us a cult.
The true heretics, are today’s pastors who misunderstand the Bible.
Because they have sown the seed of the weeds (i.e. the false teachings of Satan) in people’s hearts without knowing the true meaning of the Bible means they have given birth to the spiritual children of the devil (Mt 13:38-39). Anyone who preaches lies is a heretic.
SCJ is the place that has mastered the Old and New Testaments by receiving the revelation of heaven.
It is a place that is testifying about the physical fulfillment of the Bible (Rv 1:2; Rv 10; Rv 22:16).
For these reasons, SCJ is truly orthodox.

Therefore, anyone who calls the orthodoxy of SCJ a cult proves him or herself to be a heretic.
They cannot obtain salvation; they will be judged. Those who post slanderous or disparaging comments about SCJ on the Internet are nothing but cyber-thugs.
They think their actions are righteous, and they refuse to engage in a civilized discussion with us. If you believe their claims, SCJ is bringing Christianity to ruin.
The reality, however, is that they are the ones who are destroying Christianity and killing the faith of their fellow Christians.
They disgrace and torment fellow Christians with their slanderous words. Without even a hint of morality or reason, they grow more and more wicked by the day.

It is not even worth having religious conversations with these unprincipled persecutors who are working against God and the Bible.

Who are born again

There are two kinds of seed: the seed of heaven and the seed of the earth. There are people born in heaven and people born on the earth. The one who comes from above speaks of what he has seen and heard in heaven, but the one who comes from the earth speaks of what he has seen and heard on the earth (Jn 3:31-34). This is how those who are born of the holy spirit are different from those who are born of the flesh.

It is through God’s seed and holy spirit that Christians are able to believe in Jesus and be born again (Jn 3:5-6; 1 Pt 1:23). People who have not been born again yet claim to believe are mere flesh born of the world (i.e. the earth). The mind of a sinful person cannot know the work of the holy spirit (Rom 8:5-11).

Buddhist monks shave their heads and go to temples in the mountains; they leave the world behind for the sake of their faith. The monks spend their days together at the temples, praying and committing themselves to live with Buddha. We can see similar devotion in Catholicism. Catholic priests and nuns make a similar commitment to leave the world behind them. They devote their entire lives at a monastery or a nunnery, praying to and meditating on the Lord of heaven. Their lives of faith are different from the way they lived before making such a spiritual commitment. Both groups live a new life, and they are “born again” as they commit themselves to Buddha or to the Lord of heaven. If their commitment is what the Lord of heaven wants, the Lord must be with them, and they, too, will be in the Lord.

Jesus sent out 70 disciples for evangelism purposes (Lk 10:1-2). The disciples returned with joy saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!” Jesus replied, “Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names stand written in heaven,” (Lk 10:17-20). Jesus also said, “If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you,” (Jn 15:19). God, the kingdom of heaven, and the angels came to Jesus during the time of the first coming (Mt 13:24, 3:16; Lk 3:22). For this reason, going to Jesus was the same as going to heaven and to God (Jn 14:6). Let us consider what the New Testament declares about God, Jesus, and the kingdom of heaven. The New Testament says that God, Jesus, and the kingdom of heaven descend upon the one who overcomes (Rv 3:12). If this is what the scriptures state, where must we go to meet God, Jesus, and heaven at the time of the second coming? Everyone who truly believes in the Bible should judge for him and herself and believe the truth.

Protestants today should stop denouncing Buddhism, Confucianism, Catholicism, and other newly rising denominations as “cults.” Instead of throwing stones at others, they should examine themselves whether their knowledge and actions surpass that of those whom they call heretics.

In their hearts, true believers must leave the sinful world and dwell in the Lord of heaven. The scriptures declare that friendship with the world is hostility toward God (Jas 4:4). We must resemble Apostle Paul and Apostle John, who received the revelation from heaven instead of the words of the world. Persecuting, criticizing, cursing, insulting, committing spiritual murder, lying to deceive others, and carrying out lawless acts must stop. These kinds of actions must be prohibited. Instead, through justice, love, forgiveness, faith, modesty, and mercy, let us become the light which reveals God’s truth to all people. Let us willingly offer our service and bless others to become believers acknowledged by God.

If we call Buddhist monks and Catholic priests and nuns heretics while our actions prove to be no better than theirs, what will God think of us? Just look at the Internet, it is obvious that the sheer volume of insults, curses, criticism, and persecution out there outweighs the words of truth. How can all these words of persecution be the words of righteousness? How can they be the Lord’s teaching?

Shouldn’t we speak words of righteousness and blessing instead of words that promote curses and persecution? Anyone who does not yet know the truth about righteousness can easily acquire the proper knowledge by asking and learning. How can we talk about others while we ourselves are not yet perfect? No one can pass judgment without verifying for themselves first. We must regard God’s point of view and his word as our standard for judgment rather than relying on our own standards.

To fulfill the Lord’s will, true believers must become citizens of heaven born again through the word and the holy spirit. We must leave the sinful world behind and live in the Lord. We must become people who do the work of the Lord on his behalf.

What (where) are the elementary teachings? What (where) is maturity?

Teachings refer to God’s word. The elementary teachings refer to the Mosaic Law, the fulfillment of the Old Testament during Jesus’ first coming, and the figurative prophecies.

The scripture records, “Let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment” (Heb 6:1-2). The scripture also says, “For we know in part and we prophecy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1 Cor 13:9-12).

Our hope as believers is to go to heaven and God. The only path to go to heaven and God is to go through Jesus, who is way, truth, and life (Jn 14:6). Hosea records that God desires acknowledgment of God rather than sacrifice or burnt offerings (Hos 6:6). Jesus also said, no one knows the father except those who receive the revelation (Mt 11:27). Furthermore, God spoke about how His people are destroyed from a lack of knowledge (Hos 4:6).

What we must believe in is the New Testament, more than the Old Testament. The Old Testament already passed away, but the New Testament is coming, and as a matter of fact, it is being fulfilled today. One of the reasons why the Physical Israelites did not believe, even though the Old Testament was fulfilled, was because they only knew and kept the Mosaic Law. They believed the law but they rejected the faith that should be revealed. The law, however, was a tutor which was put in charge to lead saints to Christ.

What we must believe is the prophecy and its fulfillment at the time of the fulfillment. Even if someone believes in the New Testament prophecy without believing in its fulfillment, their faith is futile. At the first coming, Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament (Jn 19:30), but the Physical Israelites did not believe. The Israelites believed in and put the words of their own pastors above the promises of God. How can they be acknowledged as true believers?

We (Christians) all believe in Jesus. The words Jesus spoke are the promises (new covenant) he asked us to believe. The physical embodiment of the words of the Old Testament appeared in flesh at the first coming. Likewise, the physical embodiment of the prophecy in the New Testament will also appear at the second coming. The betrayers, destroyers, and the savior recorded in the New Testament will all appear.

When the scripture says we need to leave the elementary teachings and go on to maturity, “the maturity” refers to the place which has the physical realities of the fulfillment of the prophecy. Prophecy was given to us so that when it happens, we will believe (Jn 14:29). When the events take place, their physical realities appear. If the prophecy is compared to a dream, then its physical fulfillment is compared to a reality.

One does not attain salvation just by superficially saying, “I believe.” The one who truly believes is someone who believes in the word which asks us to flee to the mountains when seeing the destroyer standing in the holy place, and actually flees according to that very word. Furthermore, a person who does this is the one who leaves the elementary teachings. As the prophecy is fulfilled, one can see the betrayers, destroyers, and the savior at the place of maturity, the location where people can see face to face.

What Jesus and Apostle Paul talked about in the New Testament is to leave the elementary teachings. Heaven, the sealed twelve tribes, is found in the place of maturity. Just as Paul mentioned, current believers in this world are dwelling in the elementary teachings, and they do not have the faith that should be revealed (refer to Rv 5:1-3). There is no one who can attain salvation with their current life of faith (refer to Rv 22:18-19).

Among the words Jesus spoke to the crowds, Jesus only explained the meanings of the parables to those who belonged to God. Jesus, however, only spoke in parables to outsiders who were not permitted to understand them. Jesus said, if one does not know the parables, they are an outsider, and they are unable to receive forgiveness of their sins (Mk 4:10-13).

He also stated that if one adds to and/or subtracts from Revelation, which is the promise written in parables, they will not attain salvation (Rv 22:18-19). All the pastors on earth have added to and/or subtracted from the prophecy. (Ask yourself) In a situation like this, who really has a right to call someone a heretic?

It is only one person (Jesus) who opens Revelation and fulfills it (Rv 6). It is also only given to one person (the New John) to testify (Rv 10). This New John is the promised pastor who has seen the physical fulfillment of the entire book of Revelation. Arrogant people have received authority and degrees of doctorates of divinity from men, and they testify about Revelation according to their own thoughts. They are nothing but the ones who are conducting lawlessness. They are unable to testify about the physical fulfillment of Revelation. They are the pastors of the devil who give the false wine, the wine of adulteries.

All believers must leave the elementary teachings. Without adding or subtracting from Revelation, everyone must come to the place where it is being fulfilled. They must see and believe in the maturity, and become the born again chosen people. Shincheonji’s twelve tribes are God’s promised kingdom. It is the place where God dwells. It is a place never before created, where one can find the testimony of the fulfillment of the book of Revelation and receive the revelation, which is the eternal gospel. It is the promised new heaven and new earth, Shincheonji. It is also the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, the city of the highest truth in the 6,000 years of biblical history of mankind.

Whoever wishes let them come and drink the water of life, just as it says in Revelation 22:17 and they will attain eternal life.
